Oil colour is pigment ground in oil — the slowest-drying paint there is, which is precisely why painters use it.
Days of working time mean you can blend edges softly, lift colour back off and rework an area long after you laid it down — none of which acrylic allows. It needs solvent to thin and to clean, and a primed surface: oil paint applied straight onto raw paper will rot the fibres over time.
