3A Screw Lead Holder, 2 mm, Model 520

This is a screw-type lead holder, not a fine-line mechanical pencil. A threaded collar clamps a thick 2 mm lead: unscrew to release the lead to the length you need, then tighten to lock it so it will not slip under pressure.

Because the lead is 2 mm thick it emerges with a broad tip. For fine lines you sharpen it with a 2 mm lead pointer. This pencil is built for sketching, shading and architectural drawing, where a broad, soft line is wanted.
