Pan Colours - 155 cobalt blue
Description
Smart Watercolour Pan Refill.
Watercolour is transparent — the white of the paper shows through the paint and provides all the light in the picture, which is why watercolour glows in a way opaque paint cannot.
It also means you work light to dark and cannot paint a highlight back in afterwards — the white has to be planned and left. Use paper of 200 gsm or heavier so the sheet does not cockle, and let each layer dry before the next unless you want the colours to run together.
- Transparent — the paper provides the light
- Work light to dark; plan the whites and leave them
- Use 200 gsm paper or heavier to stop cockling
