Natural Jute Twine, 1 Ply, Crafts and Packing

Natural jute twine is plant-fibre string with a rough, matte, slightly hairy surface and a warm brown colour that reads as handmade rather than manufactured. It is the string you reach for when the tie is part of how the thing looks — a parcel, a gift, a label, a bundle of dried flowers.

Jute knots hold well because the fibre grips itself, but it sheds a little and is not strong enough for real load — it is a decorative and light-packing twine, not a load rope. It takes stamp ink and glue, so it works into craft and packaging without extra fixings, and a ball of it lasts a long time because craft uses short lengths.

This is the standard 1-ply weight — a single-strand twine fine enough to tie a label but substantial enough to read as a deliberate cord rather than thread. It is the general craft and gift-wrap size, the one to keep a ball of on the packing bench.
