Description
Push pins hold paper to a cork or foam board without damaging the sheet the way a staple or a strip of tape does. The hole is small, it sits in the margin, and the same sheet can go up and come down a dozen times before it looks handled.
The head is the part that decides everything. A tall plastic head is easy to grip and pull out with your fingers, which is what you want on a board that changes daily; a flat metal head sits close to the surface and takes a fingernail to lift, which is what you want on something meant to stay put. Keep them in a closed box rather than loose in a drawer — a stray pin in a drawer finds a finger eventually.
Silver round-head pins in a plain box — the office standard rather than the classroom one. A metal round head is lower and less obtrusive than a coloured plastic one, which matters on a board that people actually read rather than one that is mostly decoration.
